Privacy and member promise

What we collect, why, who sees it, and how to have it removed. In plain English.

Our promises to members

  1. A reply within 2 working days. Everyone who joins hears from Aaron within 2 working days. A real reply, not an automated one.
  2. Nothing shared without your yes. Your details never go to an employer unless you’ve said yes to that specific role.
  3. No sponsors, no vendors, no selling. Employers pay for searches. Members never pay, and nobody buys access to you.
  4. Roundtables under the Chatham House rule. What’s said at a roundtable can be used, but never attributed. Nobody reports who was there.

What we collect

When you join, we collect what you put in the form: your name, email, level, where you’re based, and anything optional you add, such as your LinkedIn profile, title, area and whether you’re open to a move. If you send a CV or talk to us, we keep notes of what you tell us.

The website itself doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

  • To reply to you, and to send what you asked for: the briefing, roundtable invitations, a career conversation, or roles that fit.
  • To consider you for technology leadership roles, if you’ve said you want that.
  • To keep accurate notes so that you don’t have to repeat yourself.

We never send your details to an employer without your yes for that specific role. We don’t sell, rent or share our member list, and we have no sponsors.

Where it’s kept

Your details are kept in techexec’s recruitment system, which is run by Digital Native and hosted in Australia. Some of the services we use to run email and to read documents may process information outside Australia; we use them only under agreements that protect it. Access is limited to the people who run techexec.

How long we keep it

For as long as you’re a member, and for a reasonable time afterwards in case you come back. Ask us to delete your details at any time and we will, unless the law requires us to keep something.

Your choices

  • Change what you receive, or leave the network, by replying to any message or emailing aaron@techexec.co.
  • Ask to see or correct what we hold about you.
  • Ask us to delete it.

Questions or complaints

Email aaron@techexec.co. If you’re not happy with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
