The network

A free, confidential network for Australia’s technology leaders and the people stepping up to join them. It exists so that you hear from a recruiter between moves, not only when there’s a job.

What members get

The monthly briefing

A short monthly note for technology leaders. What’s moving in the Australian market, which leadership roles are being searched (with names left out), and one practical piece on the job.

Small roundtables

A small group of technology leaders talking about a real problem. Brisbane first, with online sessions for members elsewhere. Dates go to members ahead of time.

A confidential career conversation

Thirty minutes with Aaron about where your career is heading, whether or not there’s a role in it. Ask any time you’re a member.

Four promises

  1. A reply within 2 working days

Everyone who joins hears from Aaron within 2 working days. A real reply, not an automated one.

  2. Nothing shared without your yes

Your details never go to an employer unless you’ve said yes to that specific role.

  3. No sponsors, no vendors, no selling

Employers pay for searches. Members never pay, and nobody buys access to you.

  4. Roundtables under the Chatham House rule

What’s said at a roundtable can be used, but never attributed. Nobody reports who was there.

Why it’s free

techexec is a recruitment business. Employers pay us when we find them a technology leader. The network is how we stay useful to leaders in between, and why they take our call when it matters.

That’s also why there are no sponsors. Vendor-funded communities let suppliers pay for time with you. We don’t, because the only thing we’d be selling is your trust.

How roundtables work

A small group of technology leaders talking about a real problem. Brisbane first, with online sessions for members elsewhere in Australia.

Who’s there
Members at a similar level, so nobody is performing for a boss or a supplier.
The rule
Chatham House: what’s said can be used, but never attributed. We don’t publish who attended.
What it costs
Nothing. No sponsors and no pitches.
When
Dates go to members ahead of time. Tick “Invite me to roundtables” when you join.

Questions

Who can join?

Technology leaders working in Australia: CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, chief data and AI officers, heads and GMs of technology functions, and senior managers working towards those roles. If you’re not sure you fit, join and Aaron will tell you honestly.

Does it cost anything?

No. techexec is paid by employers when it runs a search for them. Members never pay, and nobody pays to reach members.

Do I need to be looking for a job?

No. Most members aren’t. The network is for staying in touch between moves, and you can tell us you’re not open to roles at all.

Will my employer find out?

Not from us. Your membership and anything you tell us stay confidential. Your details only go to an employer if you’ve said yes to a specific role.

How often will I hear from you?

The briefing comes once a month if you’ve asked for it. Roundtable invitations come when there’s one near you or online. You choose what you get when you join, and you can change it any time.

How do I leave?

Email us or reply to any message. We’ll remove you and, if you ask, delete your details.

It takes a minute, and no CV is needed.
